One rapper who never tires of articulating his thoughts was simply fuel for much drama: the Instagram post was utterly insistent that he still had more to say. Versed in hip-hop business, he took a player-hating, cryptic, and loaded shot at Joe Budden and Terror Squad.

Random audiovisual snippets accompanied the post: “See Joe DAMN THEY TAKING TOO LONG TO PICK YOU UP BRO! Terror Squad you dead, leave joe&jada alone! That ain’t gonna cut it!” The video was a chaotic blend of declarations such as “I don’t fuck you son of a bitch” and “Why the energy so fucking wack right now?”- Classic 50 Cent energy.
The real meaning behind 50’s rant is still very unclear, but the mention of Joe Budden definitely points toward another episodic snipe involved in their long-standing feud. They have spatters in public before with Goodbye 50′-never.new-old-time: liberty that allows mocking Budden on his choice of career moves.
The mention of Terror Squad-the hip-hop collective started by the late Fat Joe-adds a new layer to this mystery.
The mention of “jada” in the caption made some wonder whether this has something to do with Jada Pinkett Smith. Yet given 50’s beef with Budden, this feels quite unlikely. Troll veterans also include Floyd Mayweather and even his baby mama.

Generally, these posts would amass tons of debates, and yet this post has either confused the fans or has somehow avoided them. Maybe people are just tired from the endless wars all around, or perhaps they’re patiently waiting to hear if either Budden or Fat Joe replies, so they could finally take sides.
50 Cent has crafted an image of an independent thinker that speaks on everything and anything; this outburst is an easy addition into the book. Whether this is the beginning of another rap beef or just 50 being 50 remains to be seen. The one thing for sure, though, is that when Curtis Jackson talks, the world listens, and half the time we are left scratching our heads wondering what he means.
As 50 Cent has recently been putting all his energy, albeit somewhat behind the scenes, into his showbiz production empire and the actualization of shows like Power and its spin-offs, he definitely has grass stains on his hands from stirring up the pot into the rap game. For 50, the line between a serious call-out and just plain-knee high trolling has never been too faint to distinguish.

Some dismiss this as an attention grab; others will call this the stroke of 50’s genius-working the cynical calculated controversy for himself. The man did turn being shot nine times into a marketing idea, so we probably shouldn’t underestimate his tactics. Whether it garners a response from Budden or Terror Squad-anywhere is yet to be seen, but if history has taught us anything, 50 Cent has only just begun.
