Eva Longoria and Son Santiago Dress Up for Rare Mom-Son Date

Eva Longoria stepped out this weekend for the cutest mother-son date night. The Desperate Housewives actress attended the Global Gift Gala at Hôtel Président Wilson on April 19 in Geneva, Switzerland—and she brought her 6-year-old son, Santiago Enrique Bastón, along as her date. 

The mother-son duo certainly made a stylish pair on the red carpet. Longoria opted for a bedazzled strapless silver gown with an embellished neckline, semi-sheer skirt, and glamorous train. She paired the megawatt gown with a sparkling necklace and matching hoop earrings. Meanwhile, Santiago was one of the chicest 6-year-olds ever seen, wearing a pale blue button-down, a striped blazer, navy shorts, navy knee-high socks, and a pair of brown horse-bit loafers. He posed hugging his mom’s leg on the carpet—so cute!

Longoria later shared an Instagram story video that showed her picking up Santiago so he could say a few words into the microphone during the ceremony. In another story, she shared that she and Santiago were heading “back to the states” after their trip to Geneva. 

The adorable Santiago made his red carpet debut last October, when he joined his mother at the Global Gift Gala at the Four Seasons Hotel in Paris. Once again, Longoria donned a bedazzled gown, while her son looked spiffy in a chic little suit. A month later, Santiago once again hit the red (or rather blue) carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Moana 2 with his mom. This time, the pair dressed a little more casually, both opting for matching denim looks.

Longoria and her producer husband José Bastón welcomed Santiago in 2018. Although Santiago has made a number of cute appearances with his mom on the red carpet, her husband prefers to stay out of the spotlight. “He loves for me to be on the red carpet. It’s one place he hates and he hates it,” she said to the Daily Mail, adding, “He hates Instagram. He’s like, ‘Please don’t put me on your Instagram.’ That’s why he’s never on my social media. Once [in] a while I try to slip him in there.”

Even though Longoria’s husband may try to avoid being in the public eye, both he and Santiago will both be appearing in Longoria’s upcoming reality show, Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain, which premieres April 27 on CNN.
