Charli XCX has arrived at the Met Gala 2025—and the founder of brat girl summer came in full goth girl mode dressed as a literal feathered raven—with a touch of tailoring, of course.
In line with the exhibit theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the dress code, Tailored for You, Charli donned a custom Ann Demeulemeester look that comprised of a black blazer coat along with a cropped, high-necked black feathered top. She also wore a sheer black maxi skirt with a long train and a thigh-high slit trimmed with feathers. The highlight of the look was the sculptural black feathers that erupted like wings from behind her head. She completed the look with a pair of brat-coded thigh-high leather boots and an array of silver jewelry.

She wore her hair in a messy updo with two strands hanging down either side of her face, while she rocked a simple bronzey makeup look courtesy of makeup artist Yasmin Istanbouli, who used all Valentino Beauty products. “For Charli’s look we wanted to embrace the “rebelliousness” of self-expression and dandyism, so we stripped it back and went for a more raw look,” she told Cosmopolitan.
Before heading to the iconic Met steps, Charli found time for a quick DJ set at The Mark Hotel.

Last year, Charli rocked a similarly dramatic, gothic look to the biggest night in fashion, wearing a ripped white gown along with a dark spikey updo and dark makeup look.
Charli’s latest evocative look may be just a little Edgar Allen Poe-coded, but it still bears all the hallmarks of her signature “cool girl aesthetic”—the sheer fabrics, the leather boots, the not-quite-perfect hair, the dramatic touches. Charli definitely brought a little brat to the Met.
