Met Gala 2025 Red Carpet: See All the Fashion, Outfits, and Looks

On Monday, influential guests from all corners of culture made their way across the Met Gala 2025 red carpet ever-so-elegantly draped walking over the museum’s storied steps, in celebration of the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The exhibit, which includes a collection of garments, accessories, paintings, photographs, decorative art, and more from the 18th century to the modern day, presents visitors to the New York City landmark with a cultural and historical examination of Black style that has dandyism at its epicenter. It opens on Saturday, May 10 and runs through October 26, 2025. It is partially inspired by Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book, and she served as guest curator alongside Andrew Bolton, the Costume Institute’s curator in charge.

As always, the Met Gala’s dress code was inspired by the spring exhibition. In support of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” the Met Gala 2025 dress code was Tailored for You, in tribute to the show’s focus on suiting and menswear. According to The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, the directive was designed to “purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation.”

When the Met Gala 2025 red carpet officially opened on Monday evening, the star-studded host committee was among the first to arrive. This year, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams all joined Condé Nast chief content officer and global editorial director of Vogue Anna Wintour as co-chairs.

All of the co-chairs came dressed to impress as Domingo, a brand ambassador for Valentino, wore a custom look exclusively made for him by the label’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele with Valentino Garavani accessories. Hamilton opted for a custom cream-colored suit by Wales Bonner. A$AP Rocky wore a look from his own creative agency, AWGE, that he designed in collaboration with his longtime stylist, Matthew Henson and Pharrell wore Louis Vuitton, a double-breasted, textured blazer with a pair of black bootcut pants, to be exact.
