A nostalgia-inducing snippet was shared by Snoop Dogg, which stirred up memories on all fronts in the hip-hop fraternity. Unquestionably, this-minute-long snippet indeed might have been, in eagerness, the very collaboration that Wolverson was referring to in the caption relating all those manual emojis: microphone, note, and fist. There was technically no transcription of the audio, though the viewer comments all strongly stated that whatever was said in that highly charged moment must be remembered.

Floodgates of nigga-nostalgia opened with the post. One comment read, “One of Humpty’s best verses,” in memory of the now-deceased artist. Another said he was impressed by the song growing up. Several comments agreed it was in those days when “invention was required,” unlike what happens today.
Another overzealous fan went so far as to demand a remix for today, tagging several artists to see if something could be done. None of that was a bad idea; in fact, one of the tagged artists replied that they have been considering it for quite sometime. Will this become a reality with a slight push? Judging by the excitement in the replies, it feels like the fans would just love this.
The old days had some nostalgia on their own. A few commenters were recollecting the days of having to demand videos be played on “The Box,” a pale retro way of viewing music clips. One user jokingly recalled that he had his sorry times for asking for the video to be played out loud, and so deep in his memory are those reminiscences.
Then, amid all the nostalgia, some comments took an ominous, reflective turn. While one comment lamented that not much has changed since that track came out and goes on to say that things are getting worse, another comment gave the sort of conspiracy theory that outside forces stepped in to tear apart the unity seen in that video.
The absence of King T from the conversation was noticed by many, with one fan saying he should be recognized. During all this, a sad confusion erupted as an individual merrily declared that he had seen NBA star Draymond Green in the clip-a sure signs that even legends might be subject to this denial in a sweep by Time.
Maybe the then most intriguing takeaway is the call for Snoop Dogg to pick up that vibe from years before, with an almost unanimous belief that a new version might be what hip-hop culture has been desperately searching for. With Snoop’s clout and the legacy of Death Row upon his back, maybe not everyone might dismiss it as merely the voice of a follower. It’s the hope of many if Snoop will take it seriously or not, but the call is loud and clear.

This was never just an Instagram post- a time capsule, instead, as indicated from the comments. In this fast-paced era wherein music is treated almost as a matter of seconds nowadays, the reaction proves clearly that some classics hardly ever grow old.
