Bad Bunny is no polite talk, and when that last picture came out, people started talking for all the wrong-if they really should be talking at all-right reasons. The Puerto Rican singer put up a new picture in which funny enough, his face was completely obstructed by a phone. The caption screamed out in all caps MENSAJITO, which left the Internet just spiraling into confusion, thirst, and in some cases, downright skepticism.

The photo itself gave off a certain atmosphere-the low-rise black briefs, fully tattooed, and those barely-there looks that only Bad Bunny can sell. However, one big feature was missing: a face, and nobody was calm about it. “You can’t even see his face! How does he look ‘handsome’?” said one user in jest; another added, “The word starts with an H…” and left the rest for the crowd to fill in.
Then began the thirst trap comments: “Guysss he is for the gays” proclaimed one user, with another saying, “I feel like I’m being bullied into finding this plastic surgery, closeted gay man attractive.” The energy was as chaotic as one could imagine. The tattoo itself became the matter of debate when another user thundered, “Is that a Slut Kitty tattoo on his right thigh?” while someone else said, “When did he get all those ugly tattoos? Ew.”
“But some weren’t down for the vibes. “‘Bro don’t put this shit on my timeline I just opened this app,’” one user groaned. Another sarcastically asked, “‘Okay what are we supposed to do with this information?’” The rollicking mix of grousing and praise was quintessentially internet.
Occasionally, some dragged up the old rumors, like the one asserting that this may signify with some… what, whatever it was that this photo was selling-that maybe his ex Kendall Jenner is back. Others circumstantially put it together as a tease for the upcoming tour or CCS gigs. “This is def part of his Calvin Klein contract,” one theorized; indeed would not be the least bit out there.
From amid this madness, a few sane voices emerged: “All these comments and y’all still wanna say men sexualize women…,” the user remarked, referring to the double standard that celebrity discussion has on the web. Meanwhile, another simply asked, “Am I supposed to like this?”—a vibe shared by anyone who has ever gotten halfway through any celebrity post questioning their own decision to scroll.

The fact that Bad Bunny brought up the talk without showing his face is prima facie testament to his star powers: deliberate trolling? Marketing? Or just Benito being Benito? Nothing can be said for sure, as Bade has entered a priori uncertain territory. Given that the opinions are bifurcated over a photograph in which you can’t even see the subject’s face, the real chaos would start once he drops a picture with his actual face on. It’ll never change, and honestly, we hope it never will.
