Keke Palmer evoked an iconic vintage red carpet moment circa 1986 as she stepped out at the 2025 SAG Awards on Sunday, February 23. Fresh off her NAACP Image Awards win for Entertainer of the Year the night before, the actress posed in a familiar 1985 Chanel dress before presenting at the annual awards ceremony alongside Colman Domingo. The vintage dress was previously worn by another scream queen, who was also an attendee at last night’s ceremony.

The multi-hyphenate turned heads in the floor-length body-con black velvet dress, which was previously worn by SAG Award nominee Jamie Lee Curtis at the first American Cinematheque Award Salute in 1986. The archival gown featured a classic strapless design with delicate, gold leaf-inspired gilded embroidery along the neckline. Adding some subtle yet elegant shine with Brilliant Earth’s Pavé Leaf Lab Diamond Huggie Earrings, Palmer also appeared to pay homage to Curtis’s original styling by pairing the Chanel dress with black opera globes. A pair of black pointy-toed Armani heels peeped out from underneath her floor-length hemline.

To complement her stunning red carpet style moment, the “Bossy” singer debuted a major hair transformation. Palmer’s copper-red hair was cut and styled into a voluminous bob with a deep side part, showing off the intricate neckline of her gown. She accentuated her features with full glam, adding a swipe of matte red lipstick and a smoky eye to her SAG Awards look.

While it’s unknown whether Curtis and Palmer chatted about the look during the night, Palmer’s stylist Molly Dickson revealed that she’d been inspired by The Last Showgirl actress’s look as she posted a photo of Curtis in the dress and opera gloves on her Instagram Story.

Curtis also addressed the fashion twinning moment, as she took to Instagram late Sunday night to share a side-by-side of Keke wearing the Chanel dress at the SAG Awards, as well as a throwback of her in the same black velvet gown with black opera globes, statement gold hoop earrings, and a pixie cut.

“As much as I would love to say it was mine, it was borrowed from my friend @debopp and I’m thrilled to be anywhere near @keke in style and grace and talent!” she shared.
