Meghan Markle Wore J.Crew’s Soleil Linen Pants

There are two main things I prioritize in summer clothing: comfort and breathability. Naturally, that comfort-first mindset has resulted in some pretty frumpy ‘fits (if you saw me looking like Adam Sandler last summer, no you didn’t). That was until I discovered the summer-ready pants Meghan Markle just wore, which look as good as they feel.

On Mother’s Day, Markle shared a sweet picture of her with her two children. The main takeaway, of course, was: Awwww. The second was that she nailed comfy-chic dressing. She wore a crewneck sweater with that aforementioned summer style I swear by: loose linen pants. 

My closet currently has three drawstring linen pants that I wear so consistently, I’m open to grabbing another pair. Fortunately, Markle’s exact style was identified, and they’re from my favorite mall brand.

J.Crew New Soleil Linen Pants

Markle wore J.Crew’s New Soleil linen pants, a wide-leg style with an adjustable drawstring waist. Written out, they kind of sound like sweatpants, and, TBH, I’m sure they feel like it, too. But the reality is that this breezy style dresses up easily. That has to do with the pant’s linen construction, flowy-but-not-frumpy fit, and two patch pockets at the back (my favorite detail). They have an almost trouser-like look, though a touch more relaxed, which means you can wear them to the office with a nice blouse or on the weekend with a pair of sandals and a tank.

A handful of shoppers rave that these are the best linen pants you can buy, saying that the pants are soft and lightweight but surprisingly sturdy, and that they can be washed over and over again without looking worn down. Another person said that “feel like you’re wearing pajamas” without looking like it because, according to other fans, they are “so easy to dress up.”
