Trump Jokes About Golf Being A Dangerous Sport After Viral Goose Attack Video

Donald Trump has once again proven he can turn anything-even the most mundane moments-into comedy. Just recently, the former American president termed golf a “dangerous sport” after a clip was circulated of a goose chasing down a golfer at the course with great ferocity. The clip was uploaded by Benny Johnson and generated countless hilarious reactions online.

The clip is of a goose with ill intentions chasing a down-and-out golfer who’s desperately trying to protect his… well… sensitive parts. The guy with the goose was waving his club in every direction and simply gave up mid-way, flinging it aside as he ran away, with the bird keeping pace like a shadow. Trump’s never-miss-chance-to-joke-about-anything-was true here, wherein he said that golf isn’t really as safe as is widely thought after this incident.

The internet, of course, did not shy away from commenting on this ridiculous event. One user attempted to sarcastically suggest this could be breaking news from CNN: “Trump trains swan to attack golfers with better scores.” An entirely different approach was the conspiracy one: “Leaked documents refer to the bird only as ‘MOTHER HONKER’—a rogue avian operative trained in psychological warfare.” Creativity ran wild, indeed.

Several shared their own accounts of terrifying birds on golf courses. “I grew up on a golf course that had Canadian Geese,” said one commenter. “Those birds were scary especially when nesting!” Another one was: “We have small gators in our ponds around the course, also Canadian geese.” Golfing just became a lot less relaxing.

Jokes aside, the discussion soon became political, as one critic tried changing the subject with a claim that Trump “has not been right about anything,” and then continued to criticize him for his international policies. However, most were on the lighter side: “Your chances of being taken out by a swan are slim, but not zero.” Good one.

It was a cherished moment among supporters, who called him the “Troller-in-Chief” and “the greatest and funniest President ever!” Another declared, “He is so juvenile… I love it.” Indeed, Trump really seems to be able to find humor in anything, including an attacking goose.

In a way, this incident with bird humor was fresh in his golf hazard repertoire. With the presidency, he frequently played at his own courses and has joked about all manner of golf-related stuff over the years.

Another example showing how Trump carries the online conversation-even if, like wildlife on a golf course, he has nothing really controversial to say-about the viral moment. A love-hate crowd, but there is no denying he knows how to take a pack-and, evidently, find humor in an angry goose chasing a terrified golfer.

The online chatter about the incident aside, one thing is for sure: golf courses must now start putting out some kind of warning about things other than stray balls. Maybe, “Beware of territorial birds.” And if anyone was wondering: Did Trump really still keep his finger on the pulse of viral moments? That reaction answers with a big yes. That guy could have a laugh at a stone and drag half the country into it.
